Casey Holmes
Visiting Assistant Professor, Social Studies Education
Dr. Casey Holmes is Visiting Assistant Professor of Social Studies Education at Wake Forest University. She teaches courses on learning sciences and social studies methods and supervises student teachers during their full-time placements. Dr. Holmes holds a B.A. in International Studies and MAT in secondary social studies education, both from UNC-Chapel Hill. She taught high school social studies in Wake County Public Schools (NC) before completing her doctorate at NC State University, where her research focused on critical citizenship education. Prior to joining the Wake Forest faculty, Dr. Holmes spent three years as Assistant Professor of Teaching and Learning at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
