Welcome to the
Department of Education
at Wake Forest University

The Wake Forest Department of Education is a vibrant department where students prepare for careers in education, including teaching, leadership, and policy, that meet the needs of 21st century educational environments.

We offer undergraduate and graduate licensure and non-licensure programs in elementary and secondary education, including coursework and fieldwork in local K-12 schools. Our faculty are experts in their respective fields of education who work closely with university and community stakeholders to support and engage Wake Forest students.

Our teacher education program meets rigorous state and national standards for educator preparation, including our initial teacher licensure program, which is fully accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).

Students from majors and minors across the Wake Forest campus join our divisional and first-year seminar courses, College to Career series, and Schools, Education, and Society minor to explore emerging trends in fields related to K-12 education, higher education, global schools, community engagement, and career preparation.
