Kathryn Pegram is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Education with a staff appointment in the Center for Literacy Education. Kathryn holds a degree in mathematics from Wake Forest University, with a double minor in secondary education and political science, as well as a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Kathryn has spent her career working in K–12 public charter schools as a mathematics teacher, assistant principal, principal, and consultant. Now, as a PhD candidate at UNC Greensboro, she researches how educators and school leaders can build schools rooted in belonging, equity, and democratic practice.
