Department Awards

The Wake Forest University Department of Education has an Awards Committee intended to support projects that will encourage students to learn more about the field of education.

Students, or faculty sponsors, who are interested in applying to receive EDU’s Professional Development Award should complete the appropriate form below.

EDU Student Professional Development Award Submission Form (Student Request)

EDU Student Professional Development Award Submission Form (Faculty Request)

Submissions will be accepted to support WFU EDU majors, minors, and graduate students in need of funding toward (1) professional conference presentations, registration, and travel; (2) professional experiences in education; and (3) academic and service resources that support teaching, learning, and community engagement.

Student applications will be considered three times per year (September 15, December 15, and March 15), though EDU faculty may request earlier consideration, as needed, if students are presenting with them at conferences.

The Awards Committee encourages students to plan ahead as limited funding is available each year. Other funding sources include:

Undergraduate Starr Travel Grant

Graduate Student Alumni Travel Award

Faculty Funding Opportunities

Questions should be directed to Professor Brian Calhoun, Awards Committee Chair for the Department of Education.
